The Clinical Librarian and the Electronic Services Librarian can offer a variety of training sessions, to suit specific professions and individual requirements:

  • Health resources on the Internet
  • Introduction to health databases
  • Accessing electronic journals
  • The Cochrane Library
  • Evidence-based healthcare resources.

Training can take place in a variety of locations:

  • The training suite in the library at Blackpool Victoria Hospital
  • The library training suites at the Clinical Skills Centre or Fleetwood or the Cardiac Education Centre at Blackpool Victoria Hospital
  • At your place of work, whether hospital or community based.

A guide to help get the most out of the Cochrane Library, written for clinicians, researchers, and consumers.

Microsoft Online Training Resources for NHS Staff

For those who would like to learn how to use Microsoft Office better - specifically Word, Excel, Outlook or Powerpoint - in small chunks, at your own pace. Each 'lesson' takes only 15 minutes or so. Registration is free with an NHS email address, and once registered, you can continue as-and-when suits you, at home or at work.
