Current Awareness Services

Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Health Library offers a range of Current Awareness Services to the members of staff of the Acute Trust, the Fylde Coast PCT's, the Mental Health Teams and other professionals who may be eligible.

Health Library Blogline

Bringing together a range of health news from media, government and educational organisations.  The library's blogline is updated on a weekly basis and retains an archive news file of two months.  View the Blog here.

Knowledge Insights

The library's electronic health information bulletin is produced every two months. This is a round-up of recent publications from the Royal Colleges and other bodies, as well as Department of Health recent documents. Contains material appropriate to all professions. View the latest edition Dec 2007/Jan 2008.

Health Management news alerts are circulated regularly to all staff who request them. Please contact us to request this service.

Commissioning Blog

NEW 'The Commissioner' is a monthly newsletter compiled by the North West Primary Care Librarians group. This is circulated upon request. It is also available as a blog.

Electronic Contents Pages

If you would like to receive by email the contents pages of specific clinical / professional journals of your choice on a regular continuing basis, please contact us to request this service. This can enable you to receive the latest articles, full text wherever possible, direct to your desktop.

Specialist Libraries: newsletters and alerts

The National Library for Health has a number of Specialist Libraries e.g. Cardiovascular, Gastroenterology, Surgery Theatres and Anaesthesia. Many of these libraries produce news alerts and bulletins, which are also circulated. Please contact us for more details.

News from the Royal Colleges

The library can track the news pages of the Royal Colleges and other professional bodies and will regularly forward that news by e-mail to staff who would like to receive it. Please contact us to request this service.
