
You don’t need to have previous experience of working in the NHS to succeed here. And for many of our roles - including porters and domestics, and certain positions in catering, transport and security – you don’t necessarily need any formal qualifications and on the job training is available. As long as you can work well with other people, are willing to learn, open to ideas and want to help us be the best, there’s a place here for you.
For those wishing to improve their qualifications, we provide support in accessing a range of NVQ’s, including Food Hygiene, Business Administration and Customer Care. We also have a Supervisor’s Development Programme to help you develop your man-management skills.

Library Services
All Trust staff are entitled to use the modern and welcoming library based in the Education Centre at Victoria Hospital. The wide range of books, journals and online resources will help you access relevant information throughout your career, as well as proving holiday and leisure reading from our fiction collection. The library has excellent study facilities and computers in a comfortable and relaxing environment and our helpful staff will ensure you find whatever you need.
IT Training
Providing both general and specific IT training for staff, including training in all applications within the Microsoft Office suite (Introduction to Advanced) and the opportunity to achieve European Computer Driving Licence certification.
The Learning Suite
This partnership between the Trust, the Trade Unions and Blackpool and The Fylde Colleges offers a range of courses, including formal English and Maths courses to leisure courses such as photography, Spanish and Sign Language. Our dedicated Learning Coordinator is on hand to offer advice and guidance to all staff.
Basic Key Skills Development
We offer support for any member of staff who wants to improve their confidence in English and Maths.
