Encouraged

Newly qualified

Even though it might only be the early stages of your nursing career, you already know that it’s a demanding and challenging job. That’s why we offer all the support, training opportunities – and encouragement - you’ll need to succeed with us.

From the moment you join us, and throughout your career with the Trust, you’ll benefit from personal development reviews, support with Continuing Professional Development, and study programmes tailored to your individual learning needs. There is also a dedicated staff led Support Group where newly qualified nurses get to meet, discuss their concerns and listen to key speakers. On site accommodation is available too.

And, as part of a strong nursing infrastructure, with a head nurse in each division, supported by matrons, sisters, ward managers and practice development nurses, you’ll enjoy regular mentoring and on the job training experiences.

Our dedicated Clinical Skills Laboratory will also enable you to further your knowledge. This unique teaching facility provides a fully equipped, safe environment for you to learn skills such as catheterisation, wound care, taking blood and medical device training – all away from the pressures of a clinical setting. Not only that, but you can take advantage of our strong links with the Universities of Central Lancashire and Cumbria too.
