The pharmacy counter at Windmill Unit
The Pharmacy Department provides a comprehensive pharmaceutical service to all hospitals within the Trust as well as Community units across all three Primary Care Trusts.
The department provides distribution, purchasing, and technical services as well as financial and medicines information.
The main dispensary is responsible for the provision of dispensed medicines for patients for discharge, inpatients and outpatients.
A satellite pharmacy in the new Macmillan Windmill Unit provides dispensed medicines, information and advice to patients attending Haematology and Oncology Clinics.
The Pharmacy department aims to provide a high standard of pharmaceutical care to all its users. This includes:
- The safe, timely and economic procurement and supply of drugs
- The safe, appropriate and cost effective use of drugs
