Journals Flyer - Primary Care Staff1
If you are Primary Care staff, to access these journals, click here
You will need to enter your NHS Athens username and password. If you do not already have one, register here, or contact the library for assistance.
The licence allows Acute Trust staff also to access the journals online - but only in the library itself. These staff should please ask at the library desk for the 'walk-in' access password.
Please click here for the library's newest Current Awareness Service. For more information please see the Current Awareness page.
The NHS Libraries of Cumbria and Lancashire have recently purchased a good collection of key textbooks, available online to any member of staff, and accessible from work or from home. Click here for the list of new titles.
An NHS Athens login is required, so staff who have not yet registered for Athens should do so here. These new e-books are in addition to the various Oxford Textbooks and other publications which were already available to us locally and nationally.
ALL journals currently available to staff - whether through local or regional subscriptions, or through National Library for Health - are now accessible through one consolidated A-Z listing. This makes it much easier to search, as everything - usernames and passwords included - is listed in one place. See our Journals page to try this out! NHS Athens login required.
Excellent news! The following additional journals are now available to all staff online. You will need to use your NHS Athens login to see the articles full text. If you do not already have an NHS Athens login, please register here.
Clinical Orthopaedics and related research
Regular users may have realised already that UpToDate, a favourite evidence-based resource, is back, by popular demand! Available to staff only, there is a quick link to UpToDate from the Trust Intranet homepage. We are not, however, able to make it available to users from home via the Internet, due to the licence restrictions. Please contact the library if you require assistance to access this invaluable, easy-to-search, and very comprehensive medical resource.
Turning Research into Practice. This easy-to-use database once restricted the number of free searches you could do, but is now freely available to all for unlimited searching. Finds the highest quality evidence-based material available on the web. Search it from here.
