The Nutrition and Dietetics Department is responsible for giving advice on all aspects of nutrition and health within our Trust's nine hospitals. We specialise in providing support to help maintain good nutrition during periods of illness or as part of managing a chronic disease, such as diabetes.
We give advice and educate people on a one-to-one basis or by giving group talks to patients, carers or health professionals.
Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, we have good links with the medical, nursing, pharmacy and catering departments, as well as other therapy services.
Although based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, we also provide services to all the other Fylde Coast hospitals as well as community services to patients on tube feeds at home. Home (also known as 'domiciliary') visits can be made at our discretion and after consultation with the referring doctor.
We also have outpatient clinics based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
