The Accident and Emergency Department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital is one of the busiest A & E departments in the country. It provides a full range of services for the 330,000 residents of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde and the 12 million annual visitors to the resort. The department sees approximately 91,000 patients each year.
The A & E service is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year and provides care to self-referred patients and those brought in by ambulance. The department liaises closely with all other specialities within the hospital.
